Just a few of the St Mathew's tributes to Yvonne

Created by Deborah 3 years ago

Dear Nick, Jackie and family

Here's just some of the lovely thoughts from people who knew you all from St Mathews and thank you for letting people attend the funeral in spirit - it was very touching.

Love Debbie

Yvonne Richardson was a lovely lady and a profound influence on Chris which, in turn, transformed the lives of so many at St Matthew's and beyond. Richard Thomas

Very sad. They both deserved a much longer and happier retirement. I do hope their children and family know how much joy their parents brought into peoples lives. I will remember them both fondly. Hilary Cooke

How very sad for her family. So sad she could not have the happiness of knowing her granddaughter. Many fond memories of past times. Di Duff-Miller

Sad news - please pass on our condolences. Di and John Newton

We remember Yvonne and how she and Chris brought music with love and joy to St Matthews The Frasers
We're very sorry to hear this sad news of a dear friend. So very tough for Nick and Jackie too. Jenny and Gavin Shepherd x

We all have so many happy memories of our time at St Matthew's with Yvonne as a key member of the choir and a constant support to her lovely Chris. The activities of the choir always kept Joanna and Amanda attached to the church and keen to keep coming. They loved the Christmas concerts with all those balloons released at the end. Joanna remembers with joy wearing a reindeer head and parading along the aisle.  The pantomimes were such a community activity and are some of their best teenage memories. Amanda also loved baby sitting Jackie on a Thursday while Chris and Yvonne went to choir practise.  Nicholas and Jackie, you must have so many happy memories and we hope they sustain you during this sad time.  The Zachariades family.

I’m so so sorry to hear this very sad news. Like Shelagh so many memories. Lynne and Nigel Sumner

My four children: Jeremy, Simon, Matthew and Elizabeth, all remember Yvonne, from the days when Chris first formed the children’s choir, at St Matthew’s. Yvonne was nearly always there when they were having Choir Practice on a weekday evening, in the ‘freezing’ Vestry, with the fairly ‘honky tonk’ piano!  I remember collecting them from that gloomy rehearsal space on cold winter evenings. She kept order in a strict but fair way with those very lively young boys.  My children were lucky enough to be already having very good choral and other musical training at St Paul’s School, and prep schools before that, and Jeremy was one of the first to whom Chris awarded the’Head Chorister’ red ribbon, with Yvonne’s agreement! That’s a long time ago. The Fraser and Reece four children also participated. And Peter Watkins enthusiastically encouraged. I send my love and good wishes to Jackie, Nick (and other family members),  and sincere sympathy on the sad death  of their Mother.  Susan Rowe
