St Matthew's, St Saviour's & Ealing Common Playgroup

We have so many fond memories of Yvonne and Chris from our first meetings at Ealing Common Playgroup, where many of our friendships were made and our children were young.  Chris, Nigel Sumner and Charles were the only Dad's working from home who regularly appeared delivering children to the playgroup.  Yvonne was chairman for a while I think and Chris made himself very useful by mowing the lawn. Then we moved on to St Saviour's school and I remember our son Andrew and Nick being in the Christmas nativity and almost miming the carols whilst Chris & I were the only ones singing lustily in the audience of parents!  I also remember being horrified when Chris asked me to sing the fiendishly high and complicated 'Rudolf' for St Matthews ... and my forgetting the words part-way through and willing Chris to look at me to mouth the words!  He didn't!  And in desperation I made them up and somehow they rhymed (which was a bonus).  Chris & Yvonne were always at the heart of things and we are very sad that they are no longer with us.  Sad that Jackie and Nick no longer have their beloved parents with them but we know that Chris & Yvonne would have been very proud of them.  With our love.  Carol & Charles
